Sin Against the 5th Commandment
This situation breaks the fifth commandment because the woman is
directly violating the life of her child. Despite the notion that some people
withhold, an abortion is a form of killing as it takes away the innocent life
within the mother. Fully aware that by receiving an abortion she was killing
her baby, the woman felt that it was acceptable because she found herself
unsuitable as a mother. In order to save her own life, she was willing to
sacrifice of the child who had been crafted in the image and likeness of God.
By proceeding with the abortion, the woman is directly going against the fifth
commandment and taking the life of her child. If she was not open to the
procreation of life, she should have not been having sexual relations to begin
with. Abortion is never permissible by the fifth commandment.
